WHat is Ju-Jitsu?
Ju-Jitsu is the original Samurai art also known as the "mother art" and is the oldest documented martial art. It integrates everything that a Samurai warrior would need to master for defense and offense while in combat.
It was first documented in the ninth century and was developed in a culture of warfare where most people were armed so the first goal was to disarm the opponent and then over power them.
This is done by training a student how to incapacitate the attacker through techniques like holds, locks, submissions, strikes, kicks, throws and Atemi points. With practice the student will instinctively know how to react during an attack to manipulate the situation to his/hers advantage. They will learn how to identify the strong and weak areas in the opponents body and how to retain their own centre of balance.
The student will gain the skills to calmly respond during stressful situations as well as increase self confidence.
